SIGMA LAMBDA SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization charged with raising funds and dispensing scholarship funds primarily to young men looking to further their education. Scholarship is an essential aim to Alpha Phi Alpha. Our foundation has raised and awarded thousands of dollars to needy young men in the New Orleans community. Each year the foundation and the chapter host a scholarship gala during our founder’s week as the marquee celebration and opportunity to invest in young men in our community. The 2016 scholarship gala held at Xavier University sold more than 300 tickets and raised thousands of dollars in scholarships. We recognized impactful individuals and organizations including: legendary chef and community leader Leah Chase, Son of a Saint foundation, and the Silverback Society and mentoring program.

At the Sigma Lambda Scholarship Foundation, we take pride in being problem solvers who are not afraid to take risks. We believe that with boldness, creativity and heart, there is nothing we can’t accomplish. But above all, our strength lies in teamwork. Each and every one of us has the capability to contribute no matter their experience or background. With this strength behind us, just imagine what we can achieve together for our community.
